There were two attempts. First done at farm. Vet-1 thought positive at 15d check. Nothing at 28d check. The mare has a lot of cysts so probably was a cyst not pregnant at 15 d. Second try at clinic with vet-2. 4 straws was successful and ok at 28d check. Vet surprised pregnant with only 4 straws of frozen. Looking forward to a foal from a sire that is no longer with us. That's pretty amazing.
**update; beautiful healthy filly born. dark bay. More hefty build than this mare's last foal from a Hanovarian (Contucci). The mare is very athletic and this is a jumper so I'm hoping this filly will like jumping. Already got people asking.... |
